Reflection
I think the biggest struggle we had a group was trying to find out what we wanted to do our documentary over. Our original plan was to do it over the workers at Rupp Arena and the story behind them while they are setting up the place. We quickly found out that, that wasn't going to happen because the workers at Rupp are not aloud to talk about that kind of stuff. From there we had to try and find a new topic really fast so that we had time to get footage. The part that makes me most proud is the editing because I have never done any kind of video editing before and i was really quite terrified of it. Im also really proud of how it just came together and how we got the name of the UK Solar Car Team out there and hopefully they get a lot more publicity. I wish I could have changed what we filmed with because a few times in the video there was a vibrating noise from my phone. If I had 6 months to do this project I would have added more video and hopefully have gotten more interview and video of the car driving or racing. My part in the group was to do all the video editing and storyboarding. I was also in charge of getting some footage of the team, which included interviews and just random segments of footage. As a group we tried to give everyone an equal amount of responsibility in the project that way everyone felt like they had something to contribute. I wish i could have helped organize the meetings and things just to kind of help out a little bit more. I think I contributed a fair amount if not a little more to our group. Overall Im really proud of my group and everything we pulled together to make this.

Speech Outline
Ethos: I need to make sure that i do not say um or like every other sentence. I need to make sure that i keep eye contact with the class through out the speech. I can not focus on one person i need to switch between people. In my past speeches i tend to talk very fast and put my hands in my pocket. I can overcome this by practicing my speech multiple times.
Pathos: I will be able to do this by using stories that hopefully everyone can relate to. Also looking people in the eye will help. I do not want to go too sad on the stories because then it can seem like im asking for pity.
Logos:
Introduction: The common thread between my career, family and friends is that I am always helping people and making sure that they are okay.
Body:

Friends
When Im with my friends I always feel like Im taking care of them at parties and making sure that they are okay and not making a bunch of mistakes.

JFK Speech
I think that this speech is one of the greatest of all time because of the emotion and the way that he relates to the average American citizen. JFK uses a lot of pathos in this speech to relate to every kind of American. He talks about focusing on the future but also uses the past as an example. Most of his sentences and the points he is trying to make are all short and to the point. This speech also has one of the most quoted lines from a speech ever. "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country" - John F. Kennedy

Response to "Rise of the NBA Nerd"
I think that in this article Wesley Morris is arguing that Black athletes in the NBA are dressing like nerds because they want to show that they are different from the rest of the NBA players who are just throwing on t-shirts and sweatpants and talking to the reporters in that attire. I don't agree with this argument because i think they are doing it more than just to be different. I think this select group of NBA stars are dressing like this because they have all this money to spend, why not buy expensive clothes that also look nice. I also think they are dressing like this because they have so many younger kids who look up to them. By dressing this way, they may be trying to send a message to all of the kids that look up to them that you don't have to have your pants around your knees. It seems as though these NBA players are trying to change the way that younger basketball players are dressing. I can see this happening in college and in high school sports. over the past couple of years i have noticed that a lot of younger athletes are trading in the t-shirts and gym shorts for kakis, button up collared shirts and ties.
To conclude i think Wesley Morris was close in his examination of why the NBA stars are dressing this way recently. It think that it has a lot more to do with the fact that they have the money to spend on these very nice expensive clothes. It has even more to do with setting a good example for all of the younger generations of basketball players and in general just athletes on how they should dress in public.
